All Everleigh Carsen wanted to do was complete her final semester at Hensley University and begin the life she planned.
When a wave of violent crime seizes campus, Everleigh is persuaded by her best friend to attend a school sponsored self-defense seminar, where she meets volunteer instructor, Hunter Charles. After Everleigh’s biting sarcasm induces Hunter to eject her from class, an explosive relationship is born.
Everleigh is determined to forget the striking man, but fate—that fickle shrew— continuously intervenes. Unable to escape him, she casts Hunter as her prime adversary. The only complication…Hunter is resolutely pursuing his vindication…by any means necessary. Verbal warfare ensues, and despite Everleigh’s ingenious efforts, in Hunter, she has finally found her equal.
I liked this book and Genna has tackled a very difficult subject with a sensitive grace, the story is captivating and beautifully written.
Hunter is a dream come true and i love the friendship that he and Everleigh develop throughout the book. They had a very slow burn relationship and at times that really got on my nerves, i twigged to Hunters job very early on but that didnt detract from the story.
All the time i was reading thinking well is it going to be Everleigh or Sam next on the hit list you just knew it was coming for one of them. I must say the first half of the book was ok easy to read but i got more engrossed in the last half of the book which got more intense and had much more feeling.
This book is full of great friendships and a budding love story as well as some difficult subject matter, but all in all i would say it was a good read, i would really like to read Sams story if she gets one and please let Griff be her knight in shinning armor, i loved Griff so much in this story.
