Somebody’s Angel (#5 in a Military Romance / BDSM Romance series) (Rescue Me)- Kallypso Masters

When Marc d’Alessio first rescued the curvaceous and spirited Italian Angelina Giardano at the Masters at Arms Club, he never expected her to turn his safe, controlled life upside down and pull at his long-broken heartstrings. Months later, the intense fire of their attraction still rages, but something holds him back from committing to her completely. Worse, secrets and memories from his past join forces to further complicate his relationships with family, friends, and his beautiful angel.

Angelina cannot give all of herself to someone who hides himself from her. She loves Marc, the BDSM world he brought her into, and the way their bodies respond to one another, but she needs more. Though she destroyed the wolf mask he once wore, only he can remove the mask he dons daily to hide his emotions. In a desperate attempt to break through his defenses and reclaim her connection to the man she loves, she attempts a full frontal assault that sends him into a fast retreat, leaving her nobody’s angel once again.

Marc finds that running to the mountains no longer gives him solace but instead leaves him empty and alone. Angelina is the one woman worth the risk of opening his heart. Will he risk everything to become the man she deserves and the man he wants to be?

I have waited so long for this book and im not sure if i built it up too much in my head or if there was just to much tooing and frowing between Angel and Marc.
I understand that Marc had to go on the journey to find himself and learn more about his past but i felt that some parts were really drawn out and could have been cut down a little, at one time i just found myself reading to get to a good part again not because i was enjoying the story.
This book felt a little disjointed because it is set during the last book up to a point, so it felt like back tracking to save Savi when weve already read Savi and Damian’s story and know the outcome of it. Im not sure i like books that rehash over what was in the last book you read in the series i like to move forward with the characters.

That being said i loved the dynamic of Marc and Angelina in there previous book, they are so amazing together, and my heart broke so many times as their relationship faced so many bumps in the road and blows to there connection, at one point i did wonder if they would ever get the relationship back on track and get back together at all. Trust issues between both of them really made them struggle to make the relationship work. Im not sure this book about Angelina and Marc has the same deep intensity and emotions it felt a little thin for me, there first book was so much better.

The interrogation that Marc went through to lay down his past demons was truly intense and heart breaking at times, when he thought he was talking to his dead brother Gino. The process used by the Doms Adam, Damian and Grant to crack open Marc’s memories, showed how close these Marines really are that they would go above and beyond to help a friend really was heart warming. The fact that the process brought back some bad memories for Adam but he still continued to help Marc showed true friendship and camaraderie. Marc proved himself in this story, that he would go to extremes to fight for Angel and there relationship.

The BDSM element is very small in this book where as in previous books it has been a big player and i kind of missed that element in the story, Kally writes BDSM so well so when its not there its missed.
It was great to catch up with some of the other characters from previous books too, Adam and Karla’s big news is going to be such a surprise to there friends in the next book im sure.

Damian and Savannah’s wedding was nice to read with all the wedding traditions running through it.
The wait must go on now to find out what happens next with Luke and Cassie, at least we know Luke is ok now to an extent but i think there story is going to be beautiful.

I really want to give this book 5 stars because the rest of the series is just fantastic, but i feel like it was a bridging book that really could have been missed out. I feel we could have moved right onto Luke and Cassie’s book and had a small part dedicated to Marc and Angelina’s problem and end result.

Im glad i read this book but it didnt keep me captivated like the previous books so its a 3.5 4 stars from me.
