Hockey star Alexander Crossman has a reputation as a cold-hearted player on and off the rink. Pushed into the sport by an alcoholic father, Alex isn’t afraid to give fans the proverbial middle finger, relishing his role as the MVP they love to hate. Management, however, isn’t so amused. Now Alex has a choice: fix his public image through community service or ride the bench. But Alex refuses to be molded into the Carolina Cold Fury poster boy . . . not even by a tempting redhead with killer curves.
As a social worker, Sutton Price is accustomed to difficult people—like Alex, who’s been assigned to help her create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth as part of the team’s effort to clean up his image. What she doesn’t expect is the arrogant smirk from his perfect lips to stir her most heated fantasies. But Sutton isn’t one to cross professional boundaries—and besides, Alex doesn’t do relationships . . . or does he? The more she sees behind Alex’s bad-boy façade, the more Sutton craves the man she uncovers.
I loved loved loved this book!
Sawyer has such a way of writing a beautiful romantic story, telling a couples romantic journey that has your insides turning to mush and leaving you with a huge smile.
Alex is a story of healing, love and fulfillment. The characters really draw you in and keep you captivated right to the very end.
Alex is a love me or hate me kind of guy, but i loved him. Alex is a NHL superstar with an attitude who has lost the love of the sport he is great at, he turns up goes through the motions and walks away leaving the fans and his team mate without a thought.
Alex has his fair share of demons to fight, and I love nothing more than a slightly tortured hero who discovers he may be falling in love, that wonderful shocking moment when they are hit with this strange feeling, awesome.
I loved Sutton’s no non-sense attitude which balances Alex out perfectly, they make for a wonderful partnership.
I found this book to have a superb love story that had plenty of depth and emotion that really endeared me to the characters, and pulled me into there journey and held me in its grip till the very end.
As far as secondary characters go, Garret is frickin amazing, i just love his cheeky ways, his dirty mouth, his whole persona. I cannot wait to read more about him.
Sawyer Bennett has and will always be a go too author for me, hell i would read her damn shopping list and love it!
