Eli Sabatino, determined to make a name for himself amid Seaside, New Jersey’s nightlife, has laid out the perfect plan for success. But that plan didn’t include Layla, the hopeful bartender who walked in for an interview. He knows, as an employee, this alluring blonde is off-limits but he can’t fight the undeniable force of attraction that pulls him toward her.
Layla Del Luca has the weight of the world on her shoulders. With a full course load, a boyfriend, a sister to take care of, and an alcoholic mother, she needs to regain control of her life. Her job at Fierce is priority number one. But a complication she didn’t expect looms behind the eyes of Eli, her handsome new boss.
Emotions collide full force and they can no longer turn a blind eye to what their hearts are telling them.
But, can their passion survive when Eli can no longer promise the one thing Layla asks of him? Will everything change?
I really enjoyed The love series so this spin off was a must read for me, and boy what a read it was.
I have to say i was loving this book until the last chapter, NOW, GEEZ NOW I HATE IT!
The ending hit me like a Mack truck, so not what i was expecting, so not what i wanted for these two characters, Layla deserved so much more and my heart broke a thousand times for Eli.
Why, Why Megan did you do this??!!??
Eli is such a wonderful character, he a full loving guy i really liked his banter with Jaylynn and the wind up missions he went on with Cooper. The way he embraced Layla and her sister when they were in trouble, the things he did for them and there mom at Christmas made me smile and cry, the way he changed Layla’s life in such a short time.
Layla is one of the strongest and bravest female characters i have read about in a book for a while. She has had a hard challenge at life, thrown into situations that no one person should have to deal with alone or at her age.
All that being said, she is a beautiful person, she could have been all woe is me, look at how hard my life is, but no she has worked hard to hold everything together, stayed in school to better herself, done everything in her power to be there for Fallon, Layla is a really nice person despite all the crap she has been dealt.
I wanted so much more for this wonderful couple and im gutted that i didnt get it, i dont think i have read a book before that didnt give me some sort of happy ever after, the closure i needed to finish the book. My mind is in a muddle.
I have been left with this empty feeling days later, i have a love/hate thing going on with this book, so people be warned.
