“She was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen. Pure class. Old money. I never stood a chance… until she broke up with her dickhead of a boyfriend and went off the rails.”
Brannon Forrester doesn’t expect much from life. He coasts through aimlessly. No real ties. Nothing to hold him back. Hanging out with his best friend, lead singer of a local bar band, he lives for pleasure, out of the spotlight but with all the excess of the band’s small-town fame. After all, why should he be good when the only woman he really wants will never give him the time of day?
Then, one night at an after party, Sophie Buchanan walks through the door. In an attempt to throw caution to the wind and dream out loud, she looks to him as a guide to the wild side. As someone who can show her all the excitement and recklessness her world has been missing. He plunges her into a reality of fervent passion… and heartbreaking betrayal.
Their roles have been set. He has only ever been a good time. She has only ever been a pretty face. It would be insane for them to fall in love. But when emotion complicates lust, can the caution of the mind suppress the will of the heart?
This book is bloody brilliant and i loved the fact it is told from Brannon’s point of view for the whole book, it gave a different spin on things as most book i find are told form a female point of view.
This is basically the story of Rich Girl/Poor Boy and I for one really enjoyed reading it.
I loved that Sophie isnt the usual spoiled rich bitch looking for a bit of rough, shes having a hard time in her life and wants an escape with anyone that will show her some attention. Sophie’s character is sweet and quite, she is lacking in self confidence, all due to her parents only praising her worth in looks and social standing and behavior. Most characters with this sort of background are annoying to me, but Sophie was different, i really liked how she wanted to stand on her own two feet and not rely on anyone else to find her way in life.
I know a lot of people hate a man-whore, of which Brannon start out being, but I found Brannon to be such a lovable character i really liked him from the offset, and tell me who doesnt love a tattooed bad boy with a heart of gold. The way Brannon helped Sophie work through her naughty bucket list was kind of cute in a dirty sort of way.
The relationship between Brannon and Sophie wasn’t rushed and I loved the build up of their love and trust.
The sexy scenes were hot and plentiful.
The secondary characters are great and i loved Denny and his Irish talking, the way all his friends kept telling him to speak English, it made me chuckle on more that one occasion, so i cannot wait for his book and more books in this series.
This author never lets you down you always know that your gonna love what ever she writes. I am such a fan of her writing. 5 hot sexy Do or Die stars.
