Storm (Ashes & Embers Book 1) – Carian Cole

The calm before the storm…

I lived in the quiet stillness.
I felt the wind rustle, warning me, telling me to get out of its path.

But I didn’t.

I never stood a chance.

A series of weather and road mishaps leaves me trapped in the middle of a blizzard with a complete stranger. In the back of a pickup truck. For forty-eight freakin’ hours.

A stranger with long hair, tattoos, and rippling with muscle.
A stranger with an insanely sexy voice and a wicked smile that turned my insides to jelly.
A stranger who held me in his arms, calmed me, and then set a fire in me that I couldn’t put out.
Storm lives up to his name. Beautiful. Dangerously inviting. Tumultuous. Dark. A clash of hot and cold.
He’s used to getting everything he wants.
And now he wants me.
Some people chase storms for the beautiful thrill. What happens when the storm chases you?

Storm is a book in the familiar genre of bad boy rock star, throw in a romance, a love story and you’ve always got a winner for me. But this story has a refreshing and different spin on it making it so much more.
I cannot believe this is Carian Coles first novel, brilliant.
Storm and Evie are total strangers who are stranded for a few days in a truck with nothing but each other, Storms giant dog, a little food and a heaping lot of sexual tension.
Storm, loved him right from the start he was all sorts of sexy, with a smart mouth. But what i really liked was when the relationship started to develop it was Storm that did he chasing he pursued Evie, that’s so hot. Storm had this down to earth honesty about him, he wasnt the typical arrogant rocker and i loved all his family.
Evie, had some good smart mouth comments for Storm and there interactions in the truck were funny, but i have to say she frustrated me to a point that I really disliked her at times. I wanted to shake her and tell her to just go with it! Her low self esteem and past events obviously contributed to her tooing and frowing, but man i got irritating. Thank goodness she came to her senses.
This book is such a fantastic start to a series and cannot wait to read Vandals book, i will definitly be reading all this series for sure.
