Love is fatal; a snake that slithers into your life, poisons you with its venom, and leaves you there to die.
I swore I wouldn’t be my parents.
I swore I would stay away from the limelight.
Falling in love with a musician was definitely out of the question.
Weston Carter was all kinds of wrong for a girl like me. He was musician, a womanizer, and a first class heartbreaker.
I didn’t know a love like this could exist. Our love was epic, the kind people wrote stories about. We fell into it hard, unable to control our feelings.
I set myself up for a shattered heart.
A broken life.
A fucked up love story.
This book put me through the wringer, firstly we have a heroine in a romance book that hates the idea of love.
At times i wasnt sure if i liked Emilia as a character but let me say she does grow on you (eventually).
You can see where she is coming from with some of her thoughts and choices, but Weston was amazing with her, he wasnt the ass musician she was maybe comparing him too, which frustrated me.
I totally adored Weston he is a gem of a man, just a down right nice guy. He is the type of guy that you dream you could meet yourself in real life. Every time he speaks to Emilia you just swoon.
This is one of those stories that kind of hurts to read, i didnt agree with all the choices the characters made, but i could understand where each of them was coming from and why they made that decision.
You were hoping for things to go well and be good for Weston and Emilia the whole time your reading, you can’t help but hope for a happy ending but you just know deep down you have a feeling thats not the case.
The writing style is brilliant and you are captivated the whole time.
Will I read the next book? HELL YES. There was a cliffhanger in this book that had me on my knees gasping for breath yes i so reading the next book.
